This acquisition enables OptiGroup to strengthen its service offering for B2B customers in Norway, while also reinforcing its leading position in the Nordic region.
Since its establishment back in 1949, Døvigen has operated within paper, packaging, and office and IT products. The company, which employs 15 people, is based in Skedsmokorset and has several business areas.
The company is now becoming part of the leading European distribution group OptiGroup, which has more than 2,300 employees and a net turnover of approximately EUR 1.5 billion.
BDO Deal Advisory, led by partner Per Ove Giske, has assisted Døvigen AS with the sale over an extended period.
– As I was already familiar with BDO, it was natural to reach out to them when I decided to sell the company, says Sindre Døvigen, Managing Director of Døvigen AS.
Smooth process
BDO Deal Advisory has extensive experience in assisting owners with the purchase and sale of businesses, which Sindre Døvigen highlights as a key factor in the successful completion of the sale.
– Per Ove and his team have been professional and well-organised throughout, and have driven the process forward effectively – so I am very satisfied, says Døvigen.
All 15 employees will remain with the company following the acquisition, and OptiGroup’s M&A Director, Jens Jakob Zahle, looks forward to continued collaboration.
– I would like to welcome Sindre Døvigen and the Døvigen team to the OptiGroup family, and also extend my thanks to Per Ove Giske for a well-prepared process and pleasant dialogue throughout, says Zahle.
From BDO Deal Advisory, Per Ove Giske and Herman Lynnebakken assisted the owners as financial advisors in the sale of the company, while BDO Advokater, represented by Christian Dalby, Erlend Huseby and Synne Lundstøl, provided legal advisory services.
– In processes like these, our goal is to create value for the owners and ensure proper facilitation and execution of the sales process. We are very pleased to have achieved that, says Per Ove Giske.
