Trond Sotnakk

Trond Sotnakk holds a Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) and has more than 15 years of experience in auditing. He is both a State Authorised Public Accountant and a Certified Sustainability Auditor.

Trond is an Audit Partner based in BDO’s Ålesund office, where he serves a broad range of businesses across the Sunnmøre region. His primary focus is on the maritime sector, particularly fisheries and shipping, while also bringing extensive experience from industries such as manufacturing, transportation, retail, and construction.

Over many years, Trond has been actively involved in BDO’s internal quality assurance processes in various roles, giving him in-depth expertise in audit quality, methodology, and regulatory compliance. He also has experience as a Controller and Chief Financial Officer in large international groups, providing him with strong operational and commercial insight into his clients’ businesses, challenges, and opportunities.
