BDO Norway employs more than 1450 people and has more than 70 offices throughout the country. We have clients in most areas of the private and public sectors. Internationally, BDO is present in 162 countries and employs more than 74 000 people. Wherever necessary, we join forces with resources drawn from our extensive network to work for both international and national clients.
BDO was founded in 1963 by accountancy firms in the UK, The Netherlands, Germany, USA and Canada. In 1973 the name was simplified to Binder, Dijker, Otte & Co.: BDO.
BDO in Norway was founded in 1913 under the name A/S Revisjonsbanken. In 1920, when the banking section of this business was acquired by Bergens Privatbank, subsequently known as Bergen Bank and then DnB Nor, the firm was renamed A/S Revisjon, which remained Norway’s biggest auditing firm until 1988. Noraudit AS, which was founded in 1969, merged with A/S Revisjon in 1988, and the new entity became Norway’s biggest auditing form.
In 2006 Noraudit and BDO Revico merged to become BDO Noraudit. Then, in 2009, all member firms worldwide were consolidated under the joint name and profile of BDO.
From 2011 until today, BDO Norway has grown from 600 to more than 1400 employees following the acquisition of G-Partner, Inter Revisjon, Crowe Horwath and several other firms.
