Norunn Byrkjeland

Norunn Byrkjeland is based at our Oslo office and has held various leadership roles in the audit department throughout her career, as well as roles in risk management and board positions at BDO AS.

Norunn is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from NHH. She has extensive experience in auditing and has worked across many different industries. Currently, she focuses on auditing Norwegian groups with operations in multiple countries. She has specialised expertise in auditing companies in the education sector, which are subject to various forms of special advisory services. Throughout her career, she has also audited many companies in the film, TV, music, and other cultural sector organisations.

In addition to being an auditor for companies, Norunn has been actively involved in the profession through board positions in the Norwegian Institute of Public Accountants and international organisations such as IFAC. She has also engaged with BDO’s Global organisation by participating in various technical committees to develop the audit product and risk management at BDO.

Norunn has completed the Sustainability Academy and is ready to handle assignments in this area.
