Jan Terje Kaaby

Jan Terje Kaaby is a business economist, state authorised public accountant and state authorised accounting consultant.
He is responsible for the areas of bookkeeping and external accounting in the technical department at BDO.

Jan Terje has previously worked as an auditor, and also has many years of experience from technical departments in both audit firms and Regnskap Norge. He is the chair of the Bookkeeping Standards Board at the Norsk RegnskapsStiftelse (Norwegian Accounting Standards Board), where he has contributed to the development of good bookkeeping practices since 2007. He has previously been a member and chair of the Accounting Standards Board. In addition, he has served as secretary to the legislative committee that reviewed the current audit and accounting legislation, and to the Industry Standards Committee for good accounting practices. Jan Terje is the author of legal commentaries on both the bookkeeping and accounting regulations.

Jan Terje develops and delivers many courses, both in-person and online, internally at BDO and for external stakeholders. He writes articles, participates in professional discussions, and answers questions from colleagues at BDO.
